Instructions
Make sure you thoroughly rinse the peanuts in your colander. Until water is clear
If you are using older raw peanuts, it may help the boiling process to let them soak a few hours covered in a water filled dish.
Place clean peanuts in the crock pot and add your salt (any other seasonings)
then place ten cups of water or so on top.
mix it as much as you can
place lid on top and put on LOW for 22-24 hours
You will want to go stir every few hours or so, especially before bed.
Add any water to it if needed.
serve and enjoy
Notes
In boiling older raw peanuts, you’ll definitely need to use a lot of salt as you need to refill the boiling water continuously to achieve your desired softness. To check if you’ve reached the desired softness, take a sample out of the pot to taste them.Fresh green peanuts in shells, not the roasted or cooked ones, are the best type to boil.1/2 cup salt (You can reduce this, I like mine SALTY!)For a Spicy Variation- Throw some Jalapeno's in. Or maybe a tablespoon of your favorite cajun seasoning, with a dash of red pepper flakes. I LOVE using my Jacobsen Salt, There are so many flavors!!2 Ibs peanuts
